A Great Hub for Year-Round RC
With Davis-Monthan AFB and many related technology and engineering companies here, there are plenty of people interested in RC. In fact, Tucson is becoming the new Silocon Valley, ranked in 2019 by CBRE Group at the top of “The Next 25 Markets” where tech companies are seeking operational opportunities.
The Pima Air and Space Museum calls Tucson home and is one of the world's largest non-government-funded aerospace museums. This huge operation features a display of 300 aircraft spread out over 80 acres. It should definitely be on your bucket list!
Tucson is Great for RC Aircraft Hobbyists
We take off and land from the greater Tucson, Arizona, metro area - an exciting place to be if you are an RC enthusiast. The weather is almost always flight-ready with 286 days a year of sunshine. The Tucson basin average January high is 65 degrees, so it is easy to fly even through the winter.
Outdoor RC activities slow in June through August, then pick up again in September through May.
Heridium Communities is here to encourage novice and experienced enthusiasts of RC (radio-controlled) hobbies and modeling to grow together. Our goal is to make the art of flying, floating or rolling models - with or without engines - faster to get started and encourage connections between enthusiasts.
RC and modeling hobbies are extremely rewarding and educational. We hope to add to your experience by fostering a sense of community among beginners, mentors and experts. We have a learning section to help you.
